Apple is not committed to after sales support/warranty protection August 22, 2008 6 out of 19 found this review helpful
Like millions of others that were drawn by the Apple Iphone, I bought mine in Aug '07 and in addition to the phone purchased a 3 yr (extended) warranty plan. A few days ago my phone stopped working altogether and when I took it to the Apple store, I was told that the phone was water damaged as indicated by the indicator. Therefore my warranties would not hold and I would have to buy a new phone. I found that to be a ridiculous technical judgement (and service) because having owned the phone I know that the worst case contact with water could be a slight drizzle that escaped from the sides of an umbrella. And that is expected to be weathered by any phone. My blackberry never failed me all these years!
Why would I ever buy an Apple product when today I lost all faith in the company. I believe they are cheating millions of people with a product that looks cool without honoring their commitments to repair faulty devices. They even hire 'cool' looking people at the store. For what? It's all about looks...looks that cloak bad customer service. Today I also realized another thing - I know the IPhone will not last as the hottest selling phone...It lacks what the Blackberry and Nokia learnt long ago - good customer service
Touch This August 22, 2008 The Ipod Touch that I own cannot be beaten by any other mp3's, period. A lot of people have complained and moaned that they were in one way or another disappointed. I cannot really explain why this is a common complaint. While I must admit my irritation towards the 32 GB Ipod Touch that recently came out months earlier prior to my purchase of this beautifully crafted mp3. While not perfect this particularly this model some include:
*Sometimes when I move the circle to turn it up it really screws up *It can screw up my calendar and change it so that I have to manually change it back *Sometimes it has loading issues
I purchase the updates twice and now the Ipod Touch has applications that you can purchase or received them for free. It really breathes new live into this Ipod making it that more entertaining and awesome. I mean I have truly enjoyed this mp3 and I do not want people thinking it is really bad. Because I owned a Zune before and I really didn't like it but this Ipod is really great.
*You can watch youtube videos, if you find something bookmark. If you are a youtuber and you have a few videos see them on your Ipod. Yet I wish you could manage your youtube account but it was put in place. *The applications are varied and some are great like Tap Tap Revenge it gives you a option so you could download new tracks for free. It gave me new found faith in apple. Also they have myspace and more apps that make this Ipod the ultimate machine.
I cannot express my happiness with this product without going into deep conversation but take my word for it it is a great mp3 player.
ok but not great August 21, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
So my new biggest complaint about my touch... is that I was caught in a rain storm the other day, and it wont turn on anymore. IT didnt even get that wet... but its completely toasted... you would expect an "on the go" device to do better than that in the rain
that said... its great for watching movies, or listening to music. I hate having to unlock it to turn it off, also changing volume or track can be a pain once the screen has locked... over all a great device though
Great Ipod but problems August 21, 2008 First Ipod I ever bought. I am not a fan of apple, but after doing significant research i realized the ipod touch is just so inferior to any other mp3 player. Ipod worked great for the first week then whenever i was on safari or youtube it would randomly exit out of the browser. I would load browser up again and yet again it would exit out of it to the main screen. I kept trying it and it kept doing it so i returned it. I am waiting for my new one but if this one doesnt work either i will start to get a little agitated. The ipod touch is just so much better than anything else out there. The samsung p2 has its problem as well as some of the creative ones. I just knew it would be a great product and it is.
Recently purchased August 21, 2008 I purchased the 8gb Ipod about 3 months ago. Starting having a bit of a problem after 2 months with it not charging and unable to boot up. I took it to an Apple Store/Genius Bar and they replaced it, saying there were a few problems with it. Unfortunately, I'm overseas and lost all my music and data so can't reload until I get home. I did use it a great deal before the trip and loved the quality, ease of use, and features. I do wish I could remove songs one-by-one if I tire of them. You have to totally reload from your computer. The sync feature works very well and it's great having my calendar and contacts load automatically. I have replaced the original earphones with something more comfortable as the buds really became uncomfortable after time.
