5 out of 5 stars Love it   October 3, 2008
I've had the iPod Touch for about a month. I just took it with me on a business trip and it was magnificent. I was able to keep in touch with my office via e-mail on the Touch; also the e-mail let me see not only the text messages but also attachments; full web browsing for both the conference material and for things to do after hours; I had downloaded various free games to entertain me; I bookmarked links to my travel info; used it as my music player on the plane. It was both an indispensable business tool and a great toy. The App selection is broad and growing daily.

Shortcomings: Very few. Typing with the touch screen keypad is, of course, not as good as a real keyboard - much slower - but the device does compensate by having a fairly robust correction mode - type anything close to the word you want and it auto-corrects to that word. When actively using Wireless, the battery life isn't great. I'd say less than 3 hours of continuous browsing & e-mail, but that's about what you get with a laptop.

Overall, the iPod replaced my laptop for communication purposes and that made me very happy.

2 out of 5 stars ok Movies streaming & radio streaming problems with Flash player hell   October 2, 2008

its easy to Use but its been a hell of trick of a time getting Media to play. the Only media movies you can watch is Youtube.

List of things u cant do!
Listen to Radio stations it dosent Suport Windows media Player so your outta luck.dosent wont let you download other media players.

playing media has made me mad. there working on adobe Flash player for touch Ipod & they said that back in March 2008 but with out Adobe your outta luck and u cant play other tube sites. its 99 % limted. there been talk about Hacking it thought (video Hamster) it tricks the brouser in thing u have flash player but I tryed it and had no luck. it loads fast. I wanted to Play shoutcast radio stations but they suport winamp and it dosent work. there isent media player in Ipod touch u think they would 311.00 I payed at costco. costco has 90 day return rule so thats great because I got it yesterday. wifi picking up is great. I want to Watch movies on it from live streaming but NO it dosent work yet. Radio dosent Suport any formats with out downloading. it wont let me download the player. but who knows maybee all the software is out there. Im ganna call 1800 number see if there is any luck. if not im ganna return it back to costco because times are tuff. and money dosent fall of trees.

5 out of 5 stars it's a cool gadget   October 2, 2008
It's cool.. make sure you have latest software installed, at this moments 2.1 to get full features and applications. Like iPhone minus communications capabilities. All apps for iPhone could use on this gagdet as long as you installed the latest software.

2 out of 5 stars Should Last More than a Month, Don't You Think?   October 2, 2008
For the month it worked, it was wonderful. It was easily the coolest iPod I've ever had. Would I buy another one? We'll see how their tech support pans out. It's a lot of money to spend on something that will burn out so soon. I'm not sure what caused the flame-out. It was never dropped or ever got wet. It was never left in a hot car or got too cold. From the research I did before purchasing, I didn't read of many problems at all, so maybe this particular unit was defective. I'm disappointed with my experience, either way. Next time I'll go for something a little less flashy.

Extremely useful for the things I like to do and not bothered by a phone which I have little use for away from work.
