The stylus actually works. I use this item every day. It helps a great deal when I have to input items.
Inadaquate solution - Keep your fingers! October 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have both an iPod Touch and a 3G iPhone and wanted a stylus for a few games where my hand blocked the view of the screen.
I found these stylii and thought they might be up to the task. I was almost correct. Read on.
The stylus is a few inches long and fits easily in ones hand. The clip is part of the body of the stylus. There's no means of attaching the stylus to the side of the iPod/iPhone unless you attach it to your case. Some styluses come with a clip for this purpose. The tip is made out of soft rubber.
Usability isn't quite as good as I'd like. The soft rubber tip requires a bit of pressure in order to distort enough for the sensor to "see" it. That means you have to mash down harder than you'd normally do with your finger. That also means there's a potential for fatigue. The bigger issue is that sliding certain on-screen controls is nearly impossible. You're mashing down so hard that the friction of the tip keeps the stylus from being able to slide.
In addition to the problems this particular design has, all styluses will have problems with multi-touch gestures such as pinch and un-pinch.
