It didn't work for my ipod. But it shipped quickly and it was only ten dollars so it was worth a shot.

...wish I read the reviews before buying it as I see other people have already addressed this problem. It does not work with iTouch latest version being 3.1.2 (7D11). I get a message "This accessory not supported by this iPod". However, it does work great with my iPod Nano 3rd Gen.

I got this cable and tried using it with my ipod touch 2nd generatiopn.
I get an error saying "cable not compatible".
So just know that this cable is useless wit the ipod touch gen 2.
