 The "toughest" iPhone case, but... February 17, 2008

The Otterbox Armor(TM) Series iPhone case is the most durable iPhone case I have seen to date. It was engineered to be used by serious outdoor enthusiasts, military personnel and at construction job sites.
The major drawbacks of the case for everyday use is its' size. It is huge and bulky! It does not fit comfortably in regular denim jean pockets. It does not come equipped with a belt clip or holster so you will have to find somewhere to stow it when you are not using it. The headphone jack adapter is permanently inserted into the iPhone so you will be unable to hear the phone ring unless you are wearing a Bluetooth headset or ear buds. Similar to the Otterbox Defender(TM) Series case, the "Silent" phone toggle switch will be inaccessible through the case. It is nearly impossible to get rid of the air bubbles between the iPhone glass screen and the Otterbox clear membrane which becomes very annoying. The manufacture suggests wiping the screen of the iPhone with your hand prior to placing on the case cover. I assume this is to rid any static buildup. Unfortunately, this method did not resolve the air bubble issue with my case. The volume and "On/Off" buttons are small and may be difficult to operate for persons with fat fingers. The case can only be submerged at a maximum depth of 3' of water for 20 minutes.
If you need a virtually indestructible, shock absorbing and limited-waterproof capable iPhone case and don't mind its' size, then the Otterbox Armor(TM) Series is for you. If you are looking for a semi-rugged, water-resistant case for everyday use, then I would recommend the Otterbox Defender(TM) Series instead.
