May not work for your application. September 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although this unit functions, it doesn't work as you might think. First if you connect any cable to either output you need to be sure the other end of said cable is terminated. I ended up with a double image issue because I wasn't ready to connect the other end of one of the outputs. Once I connected the other end, the double image issue was resolved. Second, because this is essentially a splitter and not an amplifier, you have loss on the signal which appears in the form of a darkened picture on both outputs. I've ordered a component video amplifier/splitter to deal with the loss and will not use this splitter once I install the amp. Lastly, it took an extremely long time to get this from the seller.
Not for all applications September 9, 2008 I got this to split the output of my dvr to go to my hdtv and also to my dvd recorder. This unit is basically just a "Y" cable and it allowed feedback to go from the dvd recorder to the tv degrading the picture. I need a splitter that has some isolation between the legs and doesn't cost $100+.
Doesn't work! August 30, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ordered this with a few other things from Amazon. This order arrived first as it was shipped from EForcity themselves. I just tried it out and it completely does not work. I have a Samsung 50" plasma TV and was trying to hook up my XBOX and PS2 signals. Neither worked. I tried with just one plugged in - nada. TV kept showing "Not supported mode" and every so often would flick on and off. Maybe about 1 in 20 flicks it would show a brief red distorted picture then go back to the error message. Tried both of my TV's component inputs. Tried shunting the TivoHD signal through it as well. No combinations worked. Looked through TV's menus - there aren't any "switches" to fiddle in order to tweak the component signal. Tried flipping 16:9 and 4:3. Nada. Right now I've got no idea whether the cable is busted (likely, though was perfectly shrinkwrapped on arrival) or whether the TV somehow doesn't support the signal (unlikely, after all passthrough is passthrough right?) Either way, highly dissatisfied with the product.
Nothing more to say May 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was afraid that it cannot receive the signal. But it does and it actually works well to my TV. Great~
Product seems OK, very slow delivery March 16, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
I haven't yet tried to use the cable, but it seems to be as pictured and the quality seems fine. It took 2 weeks from the time I placed the order to receive the cable. As I recall, USPS was the only shipping option. It is not clear whether the delay was the fault of the seller, eforcity, or the post office. Either way, I'm glad I was not in a hurry to receive it.
