Works Perfectly August 29, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just received my Spectec 11g card yesterday. I have a Verizon Q9c smartphone. Installed the software from the web based on other recommendations to avoid the software shipped. Plugged in the chip and bam! there was my network at home. Put in my WPA passwword and away I went surfing. Very cool and very fast. The coolest part is that I don't have to turn off the phone to swap out the chips. I just pop out the memory card and slide in the WIFI card and visa versa no problem.
still can't install it March 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had many problems and still can't find a way to install it and make it work on my Treo 750
Spectec wifi for palm treo 750 wm6 February 2, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
i have an unlocked palm treo 750 with ATT 2.25 WM6 update. Product needs a wifi driver, download from below link
[...]
the driver works for wm6. works great with secure networks. card is a battery drainer, i world not blame the card due to lack of native support on wifi on palm treo 750. plu card in only when required to save battery life. internet even on a home router is not as fast as on laptop but atleast you wont be paying airtime when at home. note : remember to set router to network type B i.e. 2.4 MBps network. i have not tested G.
Works with Moto Q9C for Sprint January 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wont comment about how it sticks out about less than a quarter inch on the right side of my Q9c. Because I knew that is how it would look when I bought it. This card works great, connects to my WPA enabled wifi at home, and is lightning quick. I did have to get the driver from Spectec's website, as the included CD does not have drivers for a Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone edition. So if you have this type of phone it will work for you, not sure about the other Q9 models (ATT & Verizon) but it should work as well as its the same model (ATT Q9 already has wifi). Love it! Feeds my need for internet access on my Smartphone while staving off my need to suscribe to a data plan.
Free Internet... Most of the time January 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned this for almost 5 months now. I do not use it as often as I thought I would because it sticks out of the side of the phone. I keep the card in my wallet so that I will have access to it when I want it. It's come in handy several times at the airport and other places that have a Wi-Fi signal.
When it works, it's great. I am using it on a Treo 750. I started with Windows Mobile 5 and it worked ok. It would disconnect and I would have to restart the phone to get it to work again. I've upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 and the card still loses the signal, but now, I just eject it and put it back in.
There is a new driver for Mobile 6 but I have not installed it yet. I'm using the one that came with Mobile 6 - come to think about it, I haven't had to install any drivers for the card since I'm using Mobile 6 - that was not the case with Mobile 5.
Like I said, when you have a signal, it's great. It's gives me free Internet and I can stream video and music without a problem.
Get it, it's worth the money if you plan on using it.
