Amazon.com Product Description
This Kensington digital FM transmitter/auto charger transmits your iPod tunes through your car stereo while simultaneously charging its battery, making it a versatile two-in-one bargain. The unit includes such features as an easy-to-read digital display, simple up/down pushbutton operation that makes it a breeze to select frequencies, three programmable buttons to lock in station presets, and a safety fuse that protects against power spikes. And thanks to the ClearFM technology, you'll enjoy richer lows, crisper highs, and superior stereo separation with a "concert hall" effect--all through your default stereo speakers. The ClearFM circuitry also boasts Kensington's patented filtering technology, which results in the lowest total harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratios of any FM transmitter on the market today--up to three times clearer than Kensington's competitors.

Compatible with any iPod with a dock connector--including the iPod nano 1G, iPod nano 2G, iPod mini, iPod 3G, iPod 4G (Click Wheel), iPod color, and iPod 5G/5.5G Video--the Kensington FM transmitter/charger is backed by a two-year warranty and includes free technical support.

4 out of 5 stars I LOVE this device!   November 17, 2008
I got this FM transmitter as a gift (from my wish-list) for X-mas 2007 after researching all the available models at the time. I have been VERY happy with it and have only deducted one star because I think the frequency screen can be difficult to read from many angles.

I live in Knoxville, TN and we have a pretty full FM-spectrum here (almost every channel has a station on it, or bleed-over from a powerful station on a close frequency). I toggle between a couple of channels at the low-end of the FM-spectrum (convenient pre-sets make this easy) if I ever start hearing noise coming through on one of them. The noise is very rare though.

I've used this device on long trips down the eastern coast and have never had any problems with it. The toggle button on the left side of the unit allow easy channel changes, but as I stated above, the screen is difficult to see at many angles that aren't straight-on.

The cord length suits easy use for my truck or my wife's van and never seems to be in the way. I don't think I'd like a stretch/coiled cord because of the tension it would create when I tuck my iPod in cup-holders or console-boxes.

3 out of 5 stars Ipod fm transmitter   October 27, 2008

Product arrived loose, and the pieces apart. The seller was very conscientious, and even offered to refund the cost, but I was able to figure out how to put it back together, and it works just fine.

4 out of 5 stars Great product, but there's always room for improvement   September 15, 2008
I've own it for a year now and I think it's great. I've been using it on a iPhone 1G and besides the warning asking you to go in Airplane Mode (which I never did) it works great. The preset are the best feature, I've the same stations in the presets in my radio in the same position, and when need to change station I don't even have to see it.

but... I'd love if it didn't turn off when you stop your engines car. And with my new iPhone 3G charging is disabled, but it still work for music, I don't now for sure but I think the signal is a little poorer with the 3G.

So, great product but i think i need a new one, when, and if, i found a better one.

1 out of 5 stars Not good if you are travelling   August 29, 2008
I do not recommend this product. This will be good if your car is not moving.Otherwise you will hear only buzzing sound..

3 out of 5 stars alright for 1 year..   August 7, 2008
I thought it was great when I first got it, the ease of having to push a button and it moves to another set station if it starts to get static. It worked great up until the past couple of months. The charger piece where you plug it into your ipod has been very finicky and the sound cuts out if the wire is moved or touched the wrong way. I am looking for a new adaptor. I think I paid around $50, and it has lasted me one year. Buy it if you want, but beware that the wire may give out after a little while and you may have to cradle it in your lap as you drive to be able to listen to your music without it getting cut out and sound like the singer is in a cave!
