I bought this headphone after my Sony MDR CD-350 stopped working. I was hoping this one will sound as great as many had said. After 60 hours of burn-in, I started my evaluation using reference music and test CDs. This headphone is by no means neutral as very well recorded piano music sounded rather compressed and digital even on my Marantz SA-13S1. Highs lack texture and are on the thin side and sounded as if treble has been set to maximum. In classical music musicians are heard taking a deep breath while playing. This sounded thin artificial and like I describe before, the treble was boosted to full setting. Bass is maintained in the middle making the headphone sound boomy. Overall sound is bright and equalized. On jazz CDs, the same was observed. It does however have drive clarity and ability to reveal difference between sources.
This headphone is suited for DJs and iPods. If I was an audio recording engineer, I will certainly be looking for an accurate sound.

After 15 more hours of use, high-frequencies are getting better with improved texture. I went shopping for an audiophile headphone, and I can say that the MDR-V6 has better build-quality than many more expensive phones. I can't give it more star, but it is worthy of 4 stars.
If this set improves, I will provide more feedbacks.

PROS:
1.) good price at 70-80 bucks!
2.) very comfortable to wear
3.) fold up for easier storage
4.) single coiled cord on left side
5.) coiled cord can stay short or stretch easily to 8-10 feet
6.) replaceable ear pads
7.) oh yeah, they sound GREAT (as good as the senheiser hd 555's that i returned and got these)
CONS:
1.) Nothing really
2.) maybe the pink/red sticker on the ear cups that i removed :)
3.) ear pad fell off soon after i got them, but i stuck it back on
4.) umm.....i don't know if this is me or not, but i seem to have to crank the volume up pretty high (75%-100%) on my devices to get the optimal sound.

These headphones have it all in my opinion. Sound, comfort, build quality, tried and true design, reasonable price. You will hear details in your music that you haven't heard before. Enjoy.

These headphones are lightweight, comfortable, and sound great. The cord is long enough to allow free movement while listening to my component stereo system.

Before purchasing this set of headphones, I was always reluctant to spend much on headphones, thinking they were all just the same. However, these, I have to admit, are pretty nice! So, here's my take on them so far:
Pros:
1. Compact! These are great for traveling, and fold up nicely to fit in the included carrying bag. Much more convenient than my old headphones that didn't fold.
2. Quality construction. I like how these are made. They're pretty solid, nothing fancy, and look durable. The only downside I noticed, which another reviewer I noticed pointed out, is that there's the exposed wires near each ear which could be damaged if you're not relatively careful. I also like the long, coiled cord. It expands for great length, but shrinks back up to help keep it out of the way when you don't need an insanely long cord. The connector also looks to be very solid.
3. Great sound! These took a little time to get used to, after using poor-quality cans for a long time. I had earbuds and some cheapie circumaural headphones, and these are definintely much better at providing clear sound than any set I've had in the past. They're good at blocking out most sounds. And are great, even at louder volumes. As far as bass is concerned, I have no problems recommending these to anyone who loves their bass. Mine, even without the "burn-in" time, provide sweet bass response. (And I love plenty of bass.)
4. Comfortable. I have no problems wearing these for longer periods of time. They're not tight, and have ample padding.
Cons:
1. The exposed wire near each can. It could be damaged fairly easily. But if you're relatively careful, you should be fine.
2. Coiled cord. I know not everyone will like the coiled cord. So this could go either way. If a coiled cord bothers you, maybe look for something with a straight cord.
So, that's it! Lots of positive things that I love about these. They're great all-around cans. I use them for music and gaming. I'm happy I got them, and I'm sure you will be, too!
