Pros:
Works with up to a 2 GB stick (biggest I've tried)
Good (just shy of "Great") signal strength (but you gotta pick the right frequency)
Shuffle Mode
Remembers last song, even if you remove the stick (though see below)
Stands up to heat and cold so you can leave it in your car
Ignores non-music files on stick, doesn't care if files are in a folder or not (despite manual's claim to the contrary)
Cons:
Will drain your battery if your outlet doesn't cut off when you turn your engine off (some cars do, some don't, check your manual)
Song memory restarts from beginning of song, slightly annoying
Shuffle does take up to 30 seconds to find next song if there are lots 200+) songs on the stick
High-quality files are a must; any noise at all gets amplified, which is probably the source of all the "static" complaints
Super-high volume not possible due to picking up low-level interference from car's alternator (low "hum" if you don't have a song playing)
No metadata or even filename display
All in all, it passes muster.

After seeing my brother's VR3 in action, I gritted my teeth, ignored the bad reviews and took the risk. Mine has performed just as well as his does. Pros: the compact design is totally unobtrusive in my dash, the forward/back controls are easy to use while driving, having the option of connecting by USB or audio-in is very handy. Cons: I had a little difficulty finding a good station among the presets (but that could just be a peculiarity of my town), when the unit is turned off it resets to the beginning of the track instead of just pausing, shuffle works fine when it's reading from a smaller storage device but gets super slow when it's reading too many files. I use mine mostly with a USB microSD card reader. My microSD card is 4G, and if I fill it up, start-up and shuffle become unbearably slow. With 1-2G on it, it works fine (who really needs 4G of music at one time anyway?). I've been super happy with mine so far, and haven't had any of the technical difficulties that others say they've had. Most of the cons I've mentioned are common for transmitters of this price-range, and the pros are the reasons I chose this one over the others in the price-range. I highly recommend getting a small USB microSD card reader to use with this, the "Sandisk MobileMate Micro" is absolutely tiny - about half the length of the average Flashdrive so it won't stick out of the unit like a sore thumb J. I've also gotten in the habit of skipping to the next song right before I turn the car off, so I don't hear the same song start over when I turn it on next. That's just a small annoyance from an otherwise fantastic little device.

I have owned this for about an year. It is almost dying! Here are some key observations:
[1] You have to experiment a bit with frequency. Once tuned, it has a sort of "break-in" period! It will perform better if you don't keep changing frequency often and dedicate a specific channel to mp3 listening. In my case 88.5 FM worked the best.
[2] You can achieve balanced and almost static free audio by playing with >| button on mp3 player and volume control on your car stereo. Read mp3 player's instruction booklet for more.
[3] Over the time (6 to 9 months), mp3 player developed loose contact problem. USB stick slides out just a little of a slot due to gravity-pull and road vibrations. You will end up pulling out and reinserting USB drive again and again. The ones with SD slot do better in this regard. I do not get loose contact problem with SD slot.
Also, the 6-position hinge becomes very very loose and will loose its ability to hold positions and will always dangle to the lowest position making display unreadable.
When it works, it is good, It does not offer you playlist capabilities with USB stick or SD card. If you own a full-featured mp3 player, you can edit playlist there. It is cheap. Medium to heavy users: Plan to buy a new one every six months to an year!

i like it ,but i cant use it bec it can drive my flush dribe.i dont know why for me useless. i would like to rtn it if dont need to pay handiling .
