Product Description Frustrated by the overwhelming nature of Flash?
Want to get up to speed with the program fast so you can concentrate on your animation?
Need to solve problems quickly to get work done to time and to budget?
Then 'How to Cheat in Flash' is for you!
This book is different from the rest because it shows you, step by step, how to work from the problem to the solution when creating Flash animations, from the viewpoint of an animator who has been commissioned to create a job and is working to a deadline.
It is task orientated; every example shows real life commercial work. So, it's not so much a case of 'what does this filter/tool/option do?', as 'this is the task I've been set - how do I achieve it?' The solution may involve a variety of tools and techniques; it may take many steps to complete, or only a few. The free CD-Rom includes all the files you need to put your skills into practice as you read, and much more!
It's an accessible (conversational in style), practical book and CD package which also provides artistic inspiration, a goldmine of timesaving practical tips, tricks and step-by-step workthroughs. You will wonder how you survived without it.
* Successful, bestselling How to Cheat coverage now available for Flash * Learn a myriad of tips and tricks based on real life working methods to help you work faster and more efficiently with Flash * Work from the problem to the solution, gaining the best possible results from Flash

This book is a great Flash instruction book! December 29, 2008 I read the review by Jackie Watson, and have to agree. I have a different point of view, however, being that I am brand-new to learning Flash.
I got this book to help me get going with Flash. I am going to keep this book for as long as it takes me to absorb every bit of advice and training it has in its pages!
It is written clearly, step-by-step, and (as Jackie Watson said) like you are looking over the shoulder of a Flash pro.
I showed it to my teacher, and she said "wow, I forgot about some of these techniques" and promptly incorporated some into her lesson for the day.
Need I say more? That right there is a HUGE compliment to the author!
Think of this book as a companion - not necessarily a tech manual, yet not quite a workbook either.
What a wonderful piece of work! I'll be keeping an eye out for more of his books!
Amazing book for flash beginners December 12, 2008 This book is great! I am a beginner and only having read through a few chapters I feel like ive known flash for years! Highly recommend.
good read but not really helpful October 20, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I enjoyed reading this book it was colorful and pleasant but not very technically helpful XD I don't regret buying and reading it but it wasn't very necessary... I've now read about 7 other flash/flash game programming books and this one I'll probably reference the least but I still don't regret buying it =)
Great Tips for Quick Work! October 19, 2008 I recommend this book to any Flash professional or novice out there. He delivers great tutorials and sound advice that makes sense!
aha moments October 2, 2008 This book is good all around, but has several of those aha nuggets that make it a very happy purchase.
