This is a fine filter, when new. It is thick and relatively stiff, allowing easy placement w/out sacrificing touch screen usability.
I have noticed it seems to scratch easily. I'm tough on devices, so this could just be me.
It does provide a darkened effect from all directions, but no complete privacy at wide angles. It might be difficult for someone to surf your shoulder on public transportation and read a txt message. But they could easily view a picture or large keypad (like the passcode lock).
This filter will have to do for now, but I will look for a different replacement.

This privacy filter was exactly what I was looking for. It turns the screen black at a 45 degree angle from all four sides. Installation was a breeze, just make sure you get all the dust and particles off your screen first and use a credit card to push the air out as you peel the clear sheet away.
The amount of the screen it covers is perfect, and the edges match up very nicely with my Incase Slider case for the 3G. And most importantly, there was no adverse affect to the touch screen sensitivity.
[...] MoogleX's didn't cover quite as much of the screen, only blacked out the screen from two sides (left & right in the vertical orientation), adversely affected the touch screen sensitivity, and was more than double the price!
If you're looking for a privacy screen protector for your iPhone 3G, you won't be disappointed with this one.
