Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The recessed headphone port on the iPhone prevents many standard 3.5 mm headphone jacks from fitting the device properly. With the headphone adapter, you can be guaranteed that all headphones will work with your device, regardless of the brand.

4 out of 5 stars Great, but needs a little bit of modification   August 28, 2010
Toby Price (san francisco, ca)
What can you say? It works nicely as the little connector that you need to make your 1G/2G iPhone's jack not be stupid. The price is exactly what it should be (how do they make money on this thing?)

One downside: it doesn't fit exactly into the phone's jack. The solution? Take an x-acto and trim it down. Voila. It fits perfectly and works just fine.

After forgetting the only one I have at work (no iPod for the weekend!!!), I'm buying a few more.

If you can cope with 5 minutes of hand shaving the plastic, it's a steal. If you can't cope, buy a 9 dollars of plastic and wire from someone else.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I needed, and a great price   August 14, 2010

Glad to find this, since for an older iPhone. Great price, fast receipt in the mail. Thank you!

5 out of 5 stars Works with iPhone 4 bumper   August 12, 2010
Steven Tack (Arvada, CO USA)
I bought this to use with an iPhone 4 with the "bumper" case installed. My headphone jack is way too big for the hole in the case. This little adapter solved the issue nicely. Haven't noticed any issues with sound quality or anything.

1 out of 5 stars horrible sound quality   August 10, 2010

I guess you get what you pay for. Go buy yourself some double cheeseburgers instead. I used this extension with my shure headphones and almost threw up. The sound distortion over the 2 inches of the cable is astounding. It went directly into the garbage.

3 out of 5 stars iPhone and iPod connections.   July 25, 2010
Keith LaBorde (Marietta, GA)
I was just looking at the Video review posted here, and I am somewhat confused.
I have a new Iphone, and it requires the 4 pins.

Starting at the Tip, and going towards the base wire end, the Iphone is wired internally this way.

1. Left Audio Out.
2. Right Audio Out.
3. Ground.
4. Audio In.

If the Manufacturer wired this correctly to go to a normal 3.5 plug.
They would use pins 1,2, and 3 as input to the output end of the connector where a normal 3.5MM Stereo connector would work.

I will be placing my order, and will provide a follow up review once I receive mine.

Follow up...
I Received my order today, and these cables work perfect for the new Iphone4. I am using with Head Set, Bose Stereo, and my Home Receiver... Not sure wha the fello with the video received, but you must have the 4 pins to work correctly. You can not plug a regular 3.5MM stereo jack into the Iphone4.
